The study benchmarked tourism funds in Africa and eslewhere, identified the opportunities and challenges associated with establsihing a national tourism fund and conducted an analysis of potential funding mechanisms, including a hospitality levy, a traveler bed levy and a tax on the airline ticket for visitors to Ethiopia
The study proposed the establishment of a bespoke national tourism fund, funded through a passenger tourism tax that should be included in the ticket prices of all visitors to Ethiopia
