UNWTO-THEMIS is considering an improvement and relaunch of SBest, a system for evaluating and vetting destinations based on a series of bes-practice guidelines. We facilitated a workshop of about 20 UNWTO and global tourism practitioners to eveluate and revise the SBest system and devise a suitable improvement, called QUEST. This is currently being considered for implementation by UNWTO-THEMIS

The proposed QUEST system is aimed at acknowledging DMOs at all levels (national, regional and local) that fullfil and pusue a range of best practice in terms of 3 Key Performance Areas namely destination leadership, execution and governance . The 3 KPAs are underpinned by 19 Success Criteria and 88 Indicators of Success. Guidelines will be developed for gathering required evidence in support of the indicators
